We are all free to enjoy our day to day lives as a consequence of those who are fighting, and have previously fought, in foreign countries to protect us. The armistice lodge project aims to provide one holiday lodge for the exclusive use of servicemen and women, together with their families / carers, who have been injured serving in the British armed forces. The aim is to provide the wounded, and their families, with a well deserved break from the stresses of recovery by providing short holiday breaks. There will be no cost to the persons staying in the lodge. The lodge will be situated at Stonerush Lakes, a stunning new waterside development currently being created in Cornwall.

In order to achieve the above, the objective is for the construction of the lodge to be provided at zero cost. This will be achieved by each and every contractor and supplier providing their services at no cost. This principle will feed along the supply chain in order that no party is left with a responsibility to provide too much. For example, an electrician will be asked to contribute their labour. However, they will ask their supplier / wholesaler to provide the materials. They, in turn, will approach the material’s manufacturer, who, in turn, will approach their raw material supplier. Once construction of the lodge is complete, a similar operation will be implemented involving the local community in Cornwall, in order to provide for the ongoing daily operation of the accommodation. The political argument of whether or not the UK should be fighting in foreign countries is not an issue that this project seeks either to involve itself in, or pass comment on. The relevant issue is that, whilst we enjoy our lives, others are left physically and mentally injured as a result of the fighting. For every 1 person killed in the current conflicts, 4 others are maimed for life. We are all in a position to make a direct positive difference to these people. This is a true community project, intended to give to those who give so much.
